Breaking news! The Foldout Cat’s physical studio location is changing!
On 19 March 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold in the United States, we reluctantly closed the doors to our studio at Lowe Mill in Huntsville, AL. Like everyone else across the globe, we hoped the closure would be short-term. In December 2020, nine months into that no-longer-short term, the Chief Feline bought a house on two acres of land in the middle of Madison, AL - a house with a big ol’ four-car garage sitting right smack next to it, just waiting to be converted into a brand new studio. In February 2021, we closed our Lowe Mill studio after almost five years in that beloved space, and as of March 2021 we are working as fast as we can (which varies from day to day) to get the Studiowl* built out and revamped. We hope to reopen to the public as soon as a critical mass of folks in the US have been vaccinated against COVID-19, when the country’s public-health situation will hopefully have turned a significant corner and it will once again be safe for us to teach and for our students to learn in the wonderfully hands-on, tactile, intimate and exploratory environment that is the world of fiber arts.
If you want to know when we reopen (and we hope you do!), sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page or any other page on the site. Please don’t use the contact form for this, as it’s not linked up to our mailing-list database and we would be very sorry to lose the chance to stay connected with you.
*the Chief Feline’s home has been christened Owl House in honor of the late fatherkitty; the adjoining creative space therefore pretty much had to be dubbed the Studiowl.
